Swagelok Weld Instructor: Jason P. Miller
Jason P. Miller earned a Bachelor of Science in Welding Engineering from the Ohio State University in 2002. After graduation, he was employed as a welding Engineer for a Department of Energy Contractor in Kansas City where he was heavily involved in developing Automatic and Mechanized welding with GTAW, RFW, IFW, EBW, and LBW processes on High Purity Gas Transfer Systems. In 2005 Jason was certified by Honeywell as a SixSigma+ Green belt.
In 2007, Jason moved to Cleveland Ohio to join Swagelok Company as a Welding Engineer in their Semiconductor Services Company (now the Swagelok High Purity Group). He helped to develop manual welding capabilities at Swagelok and became well versed in interpreting ASME and ISO Weld qualification and product design requirements for Swagelok’s Nuclear Products, Semiconductor, Bioprocessing, Hose, and Valve Service groups.
In 2014, Jason joined Swagelok’s Custom Solutions group and was given the responsibility of overseeing Swagelok’s Distributor programs for Orbital welding and Weld Examiner Certification. At that time he began providing instruction to internal associates, distributor associates, and external customers on welding fundamentals and proper use of the Swagelok Orbital Welding System.
Jason has been an American Welding Society Certified Weld Inspector since January, 2008.

This is a 5-day course that will cover the Orbital Welding Basic Training, ASME Section IX Weld Qualification, and more! This course is taught at our Columbia Office.

Orbital Welding Basic Training:
This course can be taught onsite at your facility for a minimum of four students.
Orbital Welding Essentials
Objective: To gain a basic understanding of orbital welding principles, processes and equipment.
- Introduction to Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
- Introduction to Orbital Welding
- Understanding the M200 Orbital Welder Power Supply
- Fundamentals of Shielding/Purge Gas
Orbital Welding Operator Training
- M200 Power Supply Operation
- Electrode Gap Settings
- Weld Head and Fixture Blocks Set-Up/ Calibration
- Purge Set-Up
- Weld Evaluation
Who Should Attend: Weld Operators, Technicians, Engineers and QAQC.
